supported by: mathias kaden, marco carola, brothers vibe, nick curly, lauhaus, ray okpara, nekes, anthony collins, julietta, kreon, björn wilke, v.sexion, fimo, ramiro lopez.... the newest family member on diaphan music, named roberto amormino, a very talented artist from mannheim who in his hometown is well known for his special dj sets and for his very fine taste for electronic music. thats what he also shows us on his vinyl debut on the 6th diaphan release: 2 trax lockated between duby techhouse and minimal tool. soulful and pumping! on the flip side roberto gets huge support with a 12 minutes straight and funky rmx for >new day< from his homie johnny d. who by now is a name for nearly everybody in the scene. releases on labels such as oslo, deep vibes, 8bit, safari and his unipue sound made him one of the most popular artists of the last years.
nice price deal !!! andnotors fourth vinyl release sees rubadubs very own line idle laying down a hefty techno workout, which combines analogue crispness with distorted synths and a brooding vocal for maximum dancefloor devastation. mixing land cruising-era melodic bounce with a dirty electronic throb, tense slowly builds to a crescendo as the vocals rise up through the mix until the hook kicks in and it all gets messy. on the flipside, nu42Æs acid remix does exactly what it says on the tin, arpeggiating the synths, adding a healthy dose of squelch and fracturing the vocals to make a much more grinding long-player. whilst the original is a peak-time techno beast, the flip is pure warehouse material, nine-minutes of slowly-evolving drops and breakdowns designed for an early hours of the morning after-party. tense is andnotors fourth vinyl, after limited-edition releases from cledus snow, tj kong and aleksandr jurczyk, and each copy comes individually hand-stencilled. previous releases have gained them a substantial following from djs like tom middleton, kenny larkin, mark bell (lfo), mark moore (s express) and erwin van moll.
some things seem to have a symbiotic relationship. prime example: a low-key electronic soundscape that leaves room for roaming thoughts, inhabited by an ethereal voice that colours in the musical silhouettes conjured in the minds eye. for his first ep since the >mango remixes< in 2008, sascha funke calls upon russian nina kraviz to make a feature appearance. with her releases on rekids, b77 and underground quality, this young woman has brought a rare combination of talents to bear: she sings, plays and produces with an equally astounding level of expertise. so what we have here is an encounter between of germanys most incisive techno producers and a singer of considerable charisma.

usually i disagree with almost anything fashion designers have to say, but when i was compiling this ep i remembered this quote by the iconic german designer and finally exactly understood what he means. i realized why i react so strongly to den haans music. like proper italo disco its so wrong it must be right. the two glaswegian producers do everything right when it comes to pushing buttons on the dancefloor. to follow their releases on dissident, optimo music and their own imprint courier of death, they have put together this ep that sums up their impeccable feel for hi-nrg / italo fueled dancefloor madness.

we are totally into their groove as we really like their open-minded approach and we honestly believe in them. their tunes impress by a really forward thinking attitude and can be played at any time during the night. this is a perfectsummertime single and we just had so much fun playing the tracks out. because to us this is exactly what we call b-boy house.

i know, i know… these tunes can really not be classified as house tools. martin beume, who also released the fabulous texgreen ep on outils, presents three unorthodox house tracks packed with the two winner components: weird melodies and mighty basslines. step right up! - the first cut on this release, gives you the feeling of being in a khole in the middle of a freak show carnival. catchy and odd melody snippets rotating diffusely on a never ending marching groove - absurdity in its most elegant form. slowly but steady – its a telling title! old school to the core, this track builds up steadily and adds layer for layer of jazzy samples until the tune is completed to an alluring dancefloor killer. flowing ribbon – what a lovely and sweet tune.

summer is on the horizon, peeps. its time to pump up those sounds. so open your box as sexonwax returns to the source. staying true to our name, our essence. presenting special vinyl ep for your aural excitement only. first up is the massive toon of four-track goodness, paralexia. feel our groove. really, what could be sexier? despite the name there can be no misapprehension of whats going on here. the patterns of omids paralexia see fractal flurries of melody sprinkled with insane piano tinkles. these ivories are driven upwards by solid synth gold and old skool drum builds. with a whirling breakdown that feels like a waterfall crashing over your head. it all adds up to a proper prolonged derangement of the senses. so much so that the party people of miami went ballistic when it was promod by sos during their set at dj mags pool party. check the link. show us yer shimmy! cos bites without teeth is more of a builder, folks. and if the beats dont grab n shake you in their grimy grip, then the wonky bass will. claps like a funker. phases like a wrong ‘un. builds like a bastardo. its food for thought… a bonus here from sexonwaxs popular april release in the form of lilly and poppy. except this time mr o brings a vinyl dub to the table: a reliable beauty with a dramatic and yet delicate bouquet >du jour<. in fact, its almost as epic as >the epic<! so there you go, guys. paralexia is a real package. boasting more beef than argentina, more heat than technotonics and more eruptions than iceland. all of em sure-fire floor shakers with an ultra-modern/vintage sound, best served with sunshine and a smile. feeeel the difference.

nice price deal !!! this is dasein, the opening potion of milyoos (aka tommy wilson) debut ep and the second release on subeenas new opit records. dasein attempts to grapple with existence, temporality and substance and what could be a more perfect description of these warped sonics- perpetual motion purely of the moment. multitude makes you feel like a tourist at an off-world bazaar, a strange landscape with a slug-bass bubble undercarriage and inquisitive wide-eyed synths. fayoh leads in with in a harold budd doing house piano before being pounced on by clipped vocal tics and odd blocks of cubist sound all underpinned by a funky beat and quite frankly its gorgeous. if there is a strand of coherence across the ep then its an almost exotic one- these are curiosities, virtual ships in bottles, they are not narrative pieces even if they are in constant motion. only two releases in and opit records is clearly going to avoid easy categorisation- milyoos debut is something to get mighty excited about and i await further transmissions with baited breath...

reference (planet e / echospace / beretta) consists of the detroit-based artists luke hess & brian kage. in the first reference vs project we squeezed some of the party out of seth troxler and some of the percussion expertise from ryan crosson to create the still sought after tracks >the fade< and >the bumps<. in the second installment of our reference vs series we wanted to get a bit more soulful, & deep with the music, and highlight two of the worlds finest dub techno artists - stephen hitchell (cv313) and marko furstenburg (surphase). stephen hitchell aka cv313 is first a sound engineer. his experiments with synthesis create a warm, ethereal, and organic analog sound all his own. in the reference vs projects we seek to extract the natural strengths of the artist. when we received the files from stephen we knew we were packing heat! we structured our zone around the life-like chord structure that cv313 so effortlessly creates and gave it some more dance floor flavor. we believe the track titled >the wake< will fill dance-floors over the summer months on the beach as well as in the clubs. what can we say. markos shuffled dub stab style has been in demand since the artist started releasing on thinner back in 2002. mr. fürstenbergs deep and emotional music is an extension of his character. we were happy to receive what we expected from marko, super percussive, cavernous, and soulful soundscapes. again we referenced the package out with some drones, new analog rhythms, and eureka. the zone continues relentlessly in >the swell< to carry the dancer through the night into another summer day in the sun

with her new album, dust, ellen removes the sense of remoteness entirely. a warm immediacy takes centre stage in place of distanced artistic abstraction. as such, what is perhaps ellens most personal album takes the form of a complete spectrum of her creative output to date, a cross-section in time which also looks ahead to previously untrodden paths... the world according to ellen!
